A temporary dry-goods market for both commercial and artistic exchanges, as a reflection and advancement of the river’s complex trade history and a test of a new way to regulate commercial sales in public space. Ten “ShopBoxes” unfold to become flexible shop spaces occupied by social practice artists and a diverse group of local craft merchants.
Built as part of the Riverfront Balcony Prototyping Festival, with support from the Riverfront Corporation and Knutson Construction.
