Research

As a researcher at the Minnesota Design Center, I lead communities and institutions in creative problem-solving processes that start with human needs, and result in testable prototypes. In collaboration with project partners, I design tools for increasing empathy in services and systems while promoting cultures of innovation.

Past projects range from increasing agency for the developmentally disabled to better connecting tenants to housing support for Hennepin County. Most recently I helped establish an innovation program at a state agency, and am working with rural Minnesota towns to embed human-centered design principles in their community-driven efforts.
